Julian Renner was born in Eggenfelden, Germany. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree (with high distinction) in electrical engineering from the Technische Universität München (TUM), München, Germany, in 2014 and 2016, respectively. During his Master’s Thesis, he worked on a joint research project of the Institute for Communications Engineering, TUM, and the Coding and Visual Communication Group, Department of Photonics Engineering, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Denmark. From February 2017 to October 2017, he conducted analytic- and simulation-based research in the field of waveform design for joint automotive radar and V2X communication at the Signal Processing Systems (SPS) Group, Department of Electrical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Netherlands. Since November 2017, he is pursuing the Ph.D. degree at the Coding for Communications and Data Storage (COD) group, TUM.
