Description

The course addresses modern channel codes based on iterative decoding algorithms, such as turbo and low-density parity-check codes. The course content is organized as follows: 1. Basics of soft-input soft-output decoding for binary linear block and convolutional codes 2. Block turbo codes (product codes) 3. Parallel concatenated convolutional codes (turbo codes) 4. Low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes 5. EXIT charts and weight distributions for turbo and LDPC ensembles 5. Polar codes

Prerequisites

Basic channel coding

Examination

Written exam at the end of the term
